Winter Special

“ Thank you and your staff for taking the time to listen to my concerns. You are all so caring and made me feel comfortable from the moment I had my first appointment. ”
– Fay Mahoney

As time passes and our skin changes, our natural volume and youthful skin begins to diminish, therefore, lines and wrinkles form. Fortunately, with the help of Juvéderm™ and the artistic touch of Dr. Hunts, the signs of aging can be reduced instantly; adding volume to your face that you will be able to see immediately, rejuvenating your appearance. Dr Hunts is proud to have been one of the first doctors in Eugene to offer Juvéderm™, and with over five years of experience, Dr. Hunts is confident that, with your help, he will achieve the natural results you wish to see.

JUVÉDERM™ is the ONLY hyaluronic acid filler that is FDA approved to last up to one year.

Healthy, youthful skin contains an abundance of a naturally hydrating molecule called hyaluronic acid. As we age, sunlight, pollutants and other factors damage the skin and reduce the amount of hyaluronic acid in our skin. This loss of hyaluronic acid, over time, causes our skin to lose its structure and volume, creating facial wrinkles and folds, like those unwanted “parenthesis” around the mouth.

Juvéderm™ and Juvéderm XC™ are longer lasting, smooth gel, dermal fillers that are made with the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid available. Juvéderm™ has been indicated for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. It can be used for contouring and increasing the volume of depressions and wrinkles such as nasiolabial folds, marionette lines, forehead wrinkles, cheeks and is also an ideal treatment to add volume to thin lips and reduce vertical lip lines. Juvéderm™ is a safe, effective, FDA approved way to restore the naturally occurring hyaluronic acid and volume that your skin has lost over time. It provides a smooth and natural look without the cost or downtime of a surgery – everyone will notice, but no one will know!

The only difference between Juvéderm™ and Juvéderm XC™ is that the XC formulation is infused with lidocaine to improve comfort during treatment. Juvéderm™ and Juvéderm XC™ have been shown to give longer lasting, more natural looking results as compared to other injectable fillers. In fact, almost 90% of study volunteers who were treated with both Juvéderm™ and a collagen-based dermal filler, preferred the natural look, feel and longer lasting results of Juvéderm™.

Treatment with Juvéderm™ is quick and easy, lasting from fifteen to thirty minutes with immediate results with little to no down time, including minimal swelling and bruising lasting for approximately 24 hours after treatment.

Why Juvéderm™?

  • Long Lasting: Juvéderm™ is the only hyaluronic acid dermal filler that is FDA approved to last up to one year with only one treatment.
  • It is smooth and more comfortable: Not all hyaluronic dermal fillers are created equal. Juvéderm™ is the only dermal filler that is as smooth. Other hyaluronic acid fillers currently on the market are made of granular consistency gels, but the unique manufacturing process of Juvéderm™ creates a smooth-consistency gel that flows easily into the skin and provides a smooth, natural look and feel. We have also found, here at Dr. Hunts’ office, that Juvéderm™ can be more comfortable than other dermal fillers, and there is also the further added comfort of Juvéderm XC™, as it numbs as treatment proceeds.
  • It is safe and effective for different skin types: Juvéderm™ injectable gel is the first FDA approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that has proven its safety and effectiveness in persons of color. There is no increased risk of hyper pigmentation or hypertrophic scarring in patients of color.
  • It is personalized: One size does not fit all when it comes to wrinkle treatment. A customized treatment plan is important for achieving the best results for you. Dr. Hunts will personally examine the contour of your face and discuss in detail with you your concerns and goals, giving you professional recommendations for the best treatment for a natural-looking you. Following your consultation, Dr. Hunts will begin treatment while you are able to watch in a mirror, essentially you and Dr. Hunts become a team in enhancing the volume in your face, and this allows you to get the best, most fulfilling and natural results possible.

Before Treatment

Before coming in for a Juvéderm™ treatment, avoid any blood-thinning medications such as aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs) for at least a week prior to treatment. This will help to reduce bruising and bleeding at the injection site. Anesthesia is not required, but we may apply a topical anesthetic or have you apply ice to the area before treatment to help with any discomfort. If you have questions, contact Dr. Hunts’ office for recommendations.

During Treatment and Expected Results

During your Juvéderm™ treatment, you should be able to see results immediately to the treated areas. Dr. Hunts will talk you through the treatment, letting you know what he is doing and where he is treating. You will also be able to look in a mirror as he does the treatment, your results can be highly personalized and perfected this way. Due to the individual requirements of patients, one or more vial of Juvéderm™ may be needed, Dr. Hunts will discuss with you the recommended amount of Juvéderm™ that he feels would best benefit you at the time of your consult. These results have been seen to last up to one year with just one treatment. Results may vary from patient to patient, and the volume provided by Juvéderm™ is temporary. To acquire and maintain optimal results, a supplemental treatment may be needed.

After Treatment and Side Effects

Dr. Hunts will discuss with you what to expect following treatment with Juvéderm™. For the first 24 hours following your treatment you should avoid strenuous exercise, extended exposure to the sun or heat and consumption of alcoholic beverages. Following these recommendations, will help to reduce temporary risks of redness, swelling and/or itching at the injection sites, which should resolve within a few days.

Juvéderm™ is generally well tolerated and most side effects are mild to moderate, resolving in a week or less. The most common side effects are temporary injection site reactions such as redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching and discoloration. If swelling or discomfort is experienced at injection site, an ice pack can be applied for five to ten minutes. If you are unhappy with your results, there is the option to reverse the treatment with an injected enzyme, hyaluronidase, that breaks down the Juvéderm™ under the skin.

Allergies and Other Considerations

Hyaluronic acid fillers are generally biocompatible, meaning allergy skin testing is not required prior to treatment. Juvéderm™ should not be used in patients who have:

  • Severe allergies marked by a history of anaphylaxis or history or presence of multiple, severe allergies.
  • A history of allergies to gram-positive bacterial proteins.
  • Juvéderm XC™ should not be used in patients with a history of allergies to lidocaine.

In addition:

  • If laser treatment, chemical peeling, or any other procedure based on active dermal response is considered after treatment with Juvéderm™, there is a possible risk of an inflammatory reaction at the treatment site.
  • Juvéderm™ should be used with caution in patients on immunosuppressive therapy, or therapy used to decrease the body’s immune response, as there may be an increased risk of infection.
  • The safety of Juvéderm™ for use during pregnancy, in breast feeing females, or in patients under 18 years of age has not been established.
  • The safety of Juvéderm™ in patients with a history of excessive scarring (eg, hypertophic scarring and keloid formations) and pigmentation disorders has not been studied.)
