Collagen is what gives the face volume, flexibility and strength for healthy, young skin. As we age, our own natural collagen breaks down; this diminishes facial volume and elasticity. The loss of elasticity and volume results in wrinkles, facial lines/folds, and skin laxity – all of which rob your skin of its youthful appearance.
Once injected, RADIESSE® immediately provides the volume and lift needed to reduce the signs of aging because of the calcium-based microspheres and gel that comprise the product. What is unique about RADIESSE® is that it acts as a scaffold under the skin, providing structure and also stimulating your own natural collagen to grow. This process will continue for several months, which extends the initial effect of RADIESSE®. The natural results of RADIESSE® are clinically proven to last a year or more in many patients.
RADIESSE® is completely biocompatible, with no need for pre-treatment allergy testing. This product can be mixed with lidocaine (numbing medication), so most patients say that there is very little discomfort with the treatment. In fact, 90% of patients reported significant pain reduction when using RADIESSE® mixed with lidocaine. There is relatively little bruising or swelling for most patients.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between RADIESSE® Volumizing Filler and other fillers?
RADIESSE® has the unique ability to immediately restore lost volume and stimulate your body to produce its own natural collagen for long-lasting results.
What is it made of?
RADIESSE® is made of tiny calcium-based microspheres suspended in a natural, water-based gel. These calcium based microspheres are similar to minerals that are found in your own body naturally so allergy testing is not required. Your body will absorb these tiny microspheres and the gel over time and leaves behind only your own natural collagen.
Is it safe?
RADIESSE® is FDA approved and has undergone rigorous testing in clinical studies to prove that it is safe. As with all dermal filler treatments, patients may experience redness, bruising, swelling or other localized side effects. Most side effects resolve within a few days. More rare side effects include swelling that lasts longer then a few days, unevenness or firmness in the area treated, as with any injection, there may be a risk of infection.
How long does it last?
RADIESSE® provides immediate correction while the natural, beautiful results may last a year or more in many patients.
How long is the recovery time?
There is little to no down-time involved in a RADIESSE® procedure. Most patients return to their normal, daily activities right after their treatment. Every patient is different, so be sure to discuss your plans with Dr. Hunts.
