Upper Eyelids (Blepharoplasty)
When there is significant redundancy of the upper eyelid skin, this can obstruct peripheral vision, creating a medical condition called dermatochalasis. Surgery to remove excess skin is called blepharoplasty and can often be covered by insurance. The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes with IV sedation. People can typically return to regular activity within a week. Sutures are easily removed at the one-week follow-up visit.
Lower Eyelids (Blepharoplasty)
Lower eyelids can become puffy or develop bags, making the eyes appear older or tired. During your consultation, we will create a customized plan to treat the lower eyelids to restore your natural, youthful appearance and help you maintain that look long-term. Surgery is done with local anesthesia and IV sedation. The procedure takes less than one hour, with the ability to return to regular activity within one to two weeks.
Facelift (Extended S-Lift)
Over time, the aging process can cause unwanted changes in the face, causing the appearance of jowls or a sagging jawline and neck. The facial tissue loosens and sags due to a loss of volume and muscle elasticity. Face lifting techniques are designed to tighten, smooth, and refresh the lower face and neck, leaving you with a smoother and more defined jaw and neckline.
Advanced face lifting techniques lead to natural and long-lasting results without looking plastic or fake. We may also recommend additional procedures that would enhance the development of a facelift, such as eyelid surgery, laser resurfacing, injectables, and medical-grade skin care. Patients who undergo cosmetic surgery are offered discounts on injectables, lasers, and spa services. Our professional, caring team is here for you every step of the way.
Surgery is performed with IV sedation at the Aesthetic Surgery Center of Eugene. Incisions are made within the hairline (or along the hair margin) above the ear, extending down around the lobe and ending in or below the hairline behind the ear. The subcutaneous layer and neck muscles are tightened, the facial skin is re-draped and lifted, and the excess skin is removed. A wrap is placed around the head and neck. These dressings are usually removed in 2 days. Mild discomfort is expected and is controlled with oral pain medication. Bruising and swelling decrease to "socially acceptable" levels in 7-10 days.
The final results of a facelift procedure are evident in 4 to 6 weeks or sooner, with continued improvement for several months. This restorative surgery does not change your fundamental appearance or stop aging but will help you look more youthful and rested. Gradually, as you age, the tissues will relax again, but you will always look better than you would have without the surgery.
Brow Lift
A brow lift helps raise sagging eyebrows, reduces horizontal lines in the forehead, reduces vertical lines between the brows, and leaves the forehead skin looking smoother and younger. There are several ways to perform a brow lift, and which procedure is correct for you will depend on your goals, anatomy, and hairline position. At your consultation, Dr. Fausett will talk to you in depth about which options are best for you.
Ear Lobe Repair
Loose or sagging skin in the earlobe is usually caused by wearing heavy earrings, an accidental rip or tear, or simply aging. Surgery to repair, tighten, and reconstruct damaged earlobes can reduce irregularities, including tears or large holes, by surgically excising the injured area to restore the earlobe tissue to a more natural shape. This procedure can also balance asymmetrical earlobes, making overly large earlobes more proportionate. Surgery is performed with local anesthesia and usually takes around 30 minutes. In general, the scar that results from excising the tissue is less noticeable than the damaged ear lobe and will improve as the site continues to heal.
